Oblique aerial view north across trace of Garlock fault where it cuts the toe of an uplifted alluvial fan at the mouth of Mesquite Canyon, a couple kilometers west of the townsite of Garlock. Road junction to Trona and to Randsburg is in lower right corner. White outcrops are lacustrine strata of Plio-Pleistocene age. Benches on right (east) side of fan are shorelines of ancient Lake Koehn. ©Arthur Gibbs Sylvester, 1978.
